ºÚÁÏÍø Community Updates

Institute leadership continues to communicate important information for cadets, their families, faculty & staff, and the ºÚÁÏÍø community at large:

  • Evening Gun: ºÚÁÏÍø will resume the firing the evening gun Wednesday, Oct. 29. It will be fired Wednesday and Friday evenings at 6:30 p.m. Beginning the week of Nov. 3, it will be fired Monday, Wednesday, and Friday evenings at 5 p.m. The cannon may be heard throughout the City of Lexington and parts of Rockbridge County near post.
  • Get to know ºÚÁÏÍø: Admissions Open Houses are the best way for high school juniors and seniors to see and experience first-hand what it's like being a cadet at the Institute. This 2-day program is designed to be informational for both students and their parent(s)/guardian(s). Learn more and secure a spot today for the remaining fall opportunity: .
  • Scholarship Opportunity: Are you applying to ºÚÁÏÍø as a recipient of a three or four-year ROTC national scholarship? If so, explore how the Institute can help ease the cost of your education at No Ordinary College through the Call to Duty Scholarship, now accepting applications.
  • Rifle Defeats The Citadel: The ºÚÁÏÍø Rifle Teams took on rival The Citadel on Saturday at Sills Range in Centreville, Virginia, as the Keydet Mixed squad posted its best aggregate score of the season (4605) to .

The Passing of Chaplain (Col.) Charles Caudill

It is with a heavy heart that I inform the ºÚÁÏÍø community of the passing of Chaplain (Col.) Charles Caudill, USAF Ret. Chaplain Caudill served as Institute chaplain and chaplain to the Corps of Cadets from 1979 until 1994.

Ribbon Cutting Held for New Barbershop

A ribbon-cutting ceremony for the new ºÚÁÏÍø barbershop was held Oct. 17 in Old Barracks. Superintendent Lt. Gen. David Furness ’87, along with Glenda Dudley, manager of the barber shop, cut the ribbon, officially opening the new space for business.
